Sometimes we focus on what we consider to be the “big things” as being the most significant. However, there is great significance in even the “little things” associated with so many aspects of life. Just a pinch of an ingredient in a recipe can be a huge thing. Every single bolt on a large expansion bridge is tightly turned to hold pieces in place with great significance to stability and weight support. A single step is movement in a long trek with each one being significant in and of itself in reaching the goal. Little things lead to or make up the bigger things and thus are a big deal to not be underestimated as to their true significance. Even how we are with the little things has bearing in our relation to the bigger.
After telling the parable the dishonest or shrewd manager (Luke 16:1-9), Jesus went on to state. . .
“(10) One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. (11) If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? (12) And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?” (Luke 16:10-12 ESV)
Our acceptance of responsibility with the little things would imply the manner in which we would also approach bigger things. When we understand the significance of even the little things, we will handle them as the big things they are and so be moved toward handling bigger things in a mature manner. Understanding it to be the focus the Lord blesses, may it remain ours!
Have a great day BEING BIG ON LITTLE THINGS!
