MOVING FORWARD!

Do we not struggle when situations are outside our control? In spite of our efforts and putting to use what we know, there are some circumstances which must play themselves out. However, in spite of seeming hopelessness, sometimes there does remain hope. It may not be seen at the time, but later becomes evident when the situation is looked back upon.

With reference to God it has been said, “What you might see as a setback, He can use as a setup to take you to your destiny!” [shared by Tom Green 02/07/2019With reference to God it has been said, “What you might see as a setback, He can use as a setup to take you to your destiny!” [shared by Tom Green 02/07/2019

In his ministry, Paul experienced and prayed for open doors. (1 Corinthians 16:9; Colossians 4:3) He also faced closed doors. (i.e. Acts 16:6-7) However, even then he remained open to the opportunities which did present themselves. (12) I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, (13) so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. (14) And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.(Philippians 1:12-14 ESV)

Paul’s imprisonment brought other opportunities he would not otherwise have had. It became known why he was imprisoned. His imprisonment was not that of a common criminal. His was different and that difference was noted. Through his imprisonment Paul was able to reach some among even the household of Caesar. (Philippians 4:22) His faith and continued ministry of the Gospel as a prisoner also served to embolden others in proclaiming the Word!

Even for us, we will experience both closed and open doors. We will also find ourselves in situations where we may drastically feel our limitations. However, let us continue to look to God Who is able to keep things moving forward! The setback of the moment may actually be the setup for future fruitfulness! Our example of faith will also serve to encourage others to not give up
