IN HIS LIGHT!

God’s power is sometimes displayed in the distinction He makes between those who are His and those who are following the ways of the world. This distinction was noted several times (i.e. Exodus 8:22; 9:4) during the plagues God brought upon Egypt. (22) So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was pitch darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. (23) They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the people of Israel had light where they lived.”(Exodus 10:22-23 ESV)

As the Egyptians lived in darkness for three days, Israel lived in the light. Yes, even in a world of darkness God’s light can still be provided for those who acknowledge Him. Though we may be struck by those living in the darkness of this world’s ideologies and ways, we can still live truly enlightened lives.

(6) For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV)

Regardless of the thick darkness blinding the minds of unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:4) in this world, God is still able to provide the light we need as we look to Christ. In spite of the claims some around us may make regarding being enlightened, Jesus is the “true light” (John 1:9) that has come into this world and helps us see life as we ought. Our life can be enlightened even in a world of darkness. May we live that the distinction of God’s light may be seen. Keeping our life in line with His Will, His wisdom can be reflected in our daily life.Regardless of the thick darkness blinding the minds of unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:4) in this world, God is still able to provide the light we need as we look to Christ.
